I am an Australian journalist and producer. Currently, I am based in California, where I write for The New York Times. Previously, I was a reporter with the paper’s Australia bureau and climate desk in New York City. My work has been featured on The Daily and The New York Times Presents, the Times’ documentary series.
In 2018, I was awarded a Rosalynn Carter Mental Health Journalism Fellowship for my writing on mental health. I have also written for publications including The Atlantic, National Geographic, VICE Magazine, Quartz and The Outline.
Before moving to the U.S., I lived in Italy, where I worked as a writer on the editorial team at FABRICA and at COLORS Magazine. Previously, I edited an independent magazine in Melbourne, Australia.
I have a master's degree from Columbia's Graduate School of Journalism, where I specialized in narrative non-fiction writing and environmental reporting. I also have a BA in Philosophy and Creative Writing from the University of Melbourne.
